What space do I have access to for my event?Ground Floor – foyer, stairwell and lift access to Level 1 Level 1 – main function room and verandah; male and female toilets Carpark External lawn area (by arrangement)

Can I store items for my event on the premises before and afterwards?Storage may be available on the premises for any items relating to your event and will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Is there parking available?On-site parking is available for up to 50 vehicles. Remaining vehicles to be parked on Page Avenue and Ferry Street.

Can I hire the outdoor area for a private event?Yes, please contact the Derwent Valley Boat House Event Manager for further details.

What is the internet speed?The Derwent Valley Boat House has WIFI with fibre to the node (minimum download/upload speed of 25/5 Mbps).

What audio visual equipment do you have available?The following equipment is available in-house: ceiling mounted HDMI data projector automated wall mounted projection screen hand-held radio microphone and built-in sound dual, wall mounted ‘smart’ TV’s (individual control available) POA lectern POA Additional audio-visual requirements can be arranged through an external AV supplier. A dedicated technician can be arranged for the duration of your event. POA

Can we supply our own beverages?The Derwent Valley Boat House is a fully licenced premises and operates by the Liquor Act 1990. All beverages consumed during a conference/seminar must be, under state licencing laws, supplied by the Derwent Valley Boat House and may not be brought in from other sources. Any guest supplying their own alcohol will be required to leave the premises immediately.

Can we self-cater?There has been a range of preferred caterers selected to provide food service at the Derwent Valley Boat House for your event. You are required to select one of these recommended caterers, as identified on the New Norfolk Rowing Club/Derwent Valley Boat House website. You may not provide food from any other source.

Is this a non-smoking venue?The Derwent Valley Boat House is a non-smoking premises. Smoking is not permitted on the grounds at any time.

Can we have access to the function space to set-up?Access to the event for setting up can be arranged. Please discuss with DVBH.

What is the maximum capacity?Maximum capacity is 200 for a stand-up cocktail style event or 120 for a seated event.

What is included in the venue hire for a conference or seminar?Exclusive use of the main function space including verandah Room set as required for your conference/event Ceiling Mounted Data Projector & Wall Mounted Projection Screen Microphone and built-in sound system Presenters table Registration table Pads, pens and water

What is included in the venue hire for a wedding reception?Exclusive use of the main function space including verandah (full-day access for set-up Access to commence set-up the night prior (if required) Access to DVBH grounds for wedding ceremony (if required) Room set with banquet style tables and ergonomic chairs Dancefloor Cake table Event Supervisor Beverage/Bar Service Staff

Is the venue wheelchair accessible?Yes, there is an internal lift to Level 1 and wheelchair accessible toilet facilities.

Do you host 18 & 21 birthday celebrations?By New Norfolk Rowing Club policy, the Derwent Valley Boat House does not hold 18th or 21st Birthday celebrations. Other birthday celebrations will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Do we need to pay a deposit? Do we need to pay a bond?To confirm your event at the Derwent Valley Boat House an initial and non-refundable deposit is payable at the time of booking, in addition to a signed copy of the Booking Confirmation Form and Terms and Conditions. A security deposit/bond may also be required which will be fully refunded within 14 days of the event taking place unless otherwise determined.

Are there any additional surcharges?A Surcharge of 15% is applicable to the final account for functions/events held on a Sunday or Public Holiday.

Is glassware, crockery and cutlery included?"Glassware is included in beverage sales. Crockery and cutlery hire fees are available on request.

Who sets out tables and chairs?Derwent Valley Boat House staff will set the room for your event.

Do we need to clean the venue following our event?General cleaning fees are covered in the venue hire. If it is deemed that there is additional cleaning required following your event, additional cleaning fees will be applicable and deducted from your security deposit. Please see Terms and Conditions.
